We are pleased to welcome Nobuo Sakamoto, one of Awaji Island’s leading sushi artisans and owner of Awajishima Nobu, for a special event at Sushi Minami.
Focusing on seasonal fish nurtured by the abundant waters of Awaji Island—historically known as Miketsukuni, a provider of food to the imperial court—Sakamoto brings out the finest qualities of each fish through carefully considered cutting, aging, and nigiri techniques, revealing a distinct character in every piece.
We invite you to enjoy this exclusive sushi experience, crafted by one of Awaji Island’s leading sushi artisans.

NOBUO SAKAMOTO
After honing his craft at renowned sushi restaurants across Japan, he opened Awajishima Nobu on his native Awaji Island.
Working with seasonal fish nurtured by the bountiful Seto Inland Sea, Sakamoto applies the ideal preparation and aging method to each fish, bringing out its distinctive character to the fullest.
His delicate craftsmanship highlights the natural qualities of each ingredient, while the exquisite balance with the sushi rice has captivated many gourmands.
Today, he is highly regarded as one of Awaji Island’s leading sushi artisans, attracting guests from both on and off the island.

Special Drink Selection
A carefully curated selection of sake and wine, chosen to complement the sushi, is available.
We will recommend a special selection tailored to the day’s course, including labels that enhance the umami of seasonal seafood and wines chosen for their harmonious pairings with each dish.
Beer, soft drinks, and other beverages are also available, in addition to sake and wine.
*Drinks are not included in the course price.

Stay Package
An accommodation package is available, allowing you to extend your enjoyment of the sushi event with a relaxing stay on Awaji Island.
After dinner, unwind in your guest room. Begin the next morning with breakfast, and feel free to join the wellness yoga session from 7:00 AM.
